For many years, Brandon Rozema and Mitchell Parsons have shared not only a close friendship, but also a deep passion for the game of hockey and the values it instills. Growing up together, they spent countless hours competing, training, and pushing one another to improve, developing a lifelong love and respect for the game. From youth and high school hockey, including memorable runs to the state finals, to competing at the junior and collegiate levels, both have been fortunate to experience success throughout every stage of their hockey journeys. More importantly, they have had the privilege of learning from exceptional coaches, mentors, teammates, and families who helped shape them both on and off the ice.
Today, they are proud to bring those experiences together through Proz Hockey, a new collaboration between BRPD and Parsons Hockey School, as they launch the Michigan Machine Hounds Split Season Fall Hockey Program. This partnership represents a vision that has been years in the making. Brandon’s extensive experience in team management, hockey operations, and the junior hockey landscape provides tremendous value and opportunity for players and families navigating their hockey journeys. Combined with Mitchell’s background in player development and athlete mentorship, they believe this partnership offers a unique and comprehensive hockey experience designed to support players both athletically and personally.
Their vision extends far beyond wins and losses. The goal is to build a culture rooted in character, integrity, leadership, accountability, and a genuine passion for the game. They believe in teaching players to embrace the process of improvement, learning how to work hard, compete with purpose, overcome adversity, and achieve success the right way. Through hockey, their mission is to help develop confident young leaders who will succeed not only on the ice, but in all aspects of life.
This partnership would not be possible without the outstanding coaches and staff who share this vision and commitment to developing young athletes. Brandon and Mitchell would like to recognize and thank every coach and staff member who will play a role in building the culture and foundation of this program. They would also like to acknowledge Hannah Parsons for her tremendous contributions behind the scenes in helping manage and support the business operations of Parsons Hockey School.
They are incredibly excited for what lies ahead and deeply grateful for the opportunity to give back to the game that has given both of them so much.
